Naidu to start padayatra from Hindupur from Oct 2

The opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President and former Andhra Pradesh chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will commence his ‘Padayatra’ from Hindupur in Anantapur district on October 2, The Gandhi Jayanthi day. The TDP President announced his itinerary after a four-hour meeting with his party leaders here today. Addressing the meeting, Mr Naidu said the padyatra would be launched from Hindupur, a TDP bastion from where party founder and former Chief Minister NTR had contested. The padayatra is a aimed at exposing the ruling Congress’ failure to fulfill its poll promises and the hike in diesel price, power crisis and RTC buses also, he said. He alleged the FDI is aimed at driving away the retail merchants out of business. While Walmart has vanished in the US, UPA government is welcoming it in India as part of a political agenda, he alleged.
