Naidu seeks explanation from CM on ACB Addl Director’s transfer
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu today sought explanation from Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for transferring ACB Additional Director Srinivasa Reddy who was probing the liquor syndicate case. Addressing the press at NTR TRust Bhavan here, he said it was sad that the hands of officers who were trying to control the liquor mafia were being tied down by the government itself. Mr Naidu said the state government was issuing GOs overnight to transfer officials just to save the guilty. He also alleged that efforts were on from New Delhi to save the guilty in the liquor syndicates case and charged the government with trying to unnerve the honest officials. The former Chief Minister said it was astonishing that an officer was transferred at the time when ACB was to submit status report on its recent raids on liquor syndicates to the High Court on April 16 and added the transfer of Mr Srinivasa Reddy was only to divert the investigation and save the culprits, including cabinet ministers, allegedly involved in it.
