Naidu calls for cleaning the administrative system

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu today said the time has now come for total cleansing of the administrative system both at the centre and in Andhra Pradesh.

In his presidential speech at the two-day extended meeting of the party at the NTR Trust Bhavan here, he said under the Congress Party rule both the country and the state were about to pass into an irrecoverable crisis. He alleged though there has been serious drought in 878 mandals in the state, no effort was made either to pay input subsidy or provide seeds, power and fodder. Mr Naidu said there was no water in the reservoirs and no bank was forthcoming to provide laons and added there were no buyers for the agriculture produce for remunerative price. The Former Chief Minister alleged about 19,500 farmers have died during the last eight years of Congress rule and added the state government has taxed everthing ‘except the last rites of human beings’. He reminded that 12 per cent Service Tax was imposed on every item and the price of petrol and diesel hiked 26 times and added people were demanding that there should be control over liquor trade but the government has introduced the new lottery system, resorting to further degeneration.
