Naidu and YSRC says Bandh success
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today claimed that the ‘Bharat Bandh’ called by the NDA and other parties today in protest against the hike in dieselprices and permitting FDI in multi-brand retail by the Centre, was a grand success. Addressing a press conference here, its senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu said ‘it was a people’s bandh’ called keeping in mind their interest.
Reasserting the party’s commitment to the people’s cause, YSR Congress Party today said the bandh called by various opposition parties to protest the Centre’s policies was successful. Talking to reporters here, Party MLA Golla Babu Rao said ‘Our Party has observed bandhs, rasta roko, dharna and deekshas at all the district and constituency-level headquarters against the hike in diesel prices, rationing of LPG cylinders and allowing FDI in retail sector as the Centre’s decision will affect all sections of society. ‘Our Party MLAs held a dharna at the State Assembly demanding roll back of hiked diesel prices and also against the abrupt adjournment of Assembly without taking up public issues.
