Nagarjuna’s Soggade Chinni Nayana and Express Raja are likely to loss revenues due to the decision taken by Theater Chain Cinemark and Carmike.
Sources say, Cinemark has increased their weekly gross scale range to avoid good payment terms to Telugu & Tamil movies with effect from Jan 2016. Above 400k+ will get 65% share. Less than 400k will get 50% share only . While the Locally owned theaters are paying 55% share (avg)
Soggade Chinni Nayana and Express Raja have reportedly not crossed $400k in Cinemark as the film has collected only $630k releasing in AMC New York, Regal cinemas Macarthur ,Cinemark, Carmike and Locally owned theaters.
Its not just Soggade Chinni Nayana or Express Raja , all other mid rage films will suffer with such expensive rentals . All the upcoming mid range films have already made deals with such rates.
