There have been rumours since quite some time about the political re-entry of actor Mohan Babu. Mohan Babu was active in TDP politics and played a key role in Chandrababu Naidu’s coup against his father-in-law and the then Chief Minister N T Rama Rao. He was rewarded with a Rajya Sabha seat, for the role he played.
However, he has developed differences with Naidu despite their close relationship, due to some financial issues about his investment in the Heritage company, owned by Naidu’s family. Mohan Babu who has openly leveled allegations against Naidu during those days, has however become quite after some time. He has been once again becoming close to the TDP chief of late. Reports even suggested that he would rejoin the TDP and actively participate in its activities.
Mohan Babu has visited the Srikalahasti temple in his native Chittoor district on Saturday and the omni-present media persons asked him about his rejoining TDP. Though he has declined to discuss politics in a temple, Mohan Babu has however said he would very soon make an announcement about his political plans. It is being discussed in political circles that Mohan Babu might consider launching a new political party as he has toyed with the idea earlier also. When Peda Rayudu became a history creating hit and Mohan Babu’s stardom reached the sky, he has thought of launching a political party. However he has stopped short of it, as he did not want to displease Naidu. Now Mohan Babu is inactive in films also. Even his two sons could not make it big in the film industry. It is being said that Mohan Babu has been considering that this was the time to once again become active in politics and try for a break, before the 2014 elections.
