While Andhra Pradesh’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP), is threatening to split from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) coalition. Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about TDP founder NT Rama Rao’s Telugu pride on the floor of the house in parliament.
In his speech Modi directly accused the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty of dividing India. Modi then focused on leaders from Andhra Pradesh, targeting the Congress. He said Congress insulted to Andhra leaders like Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy and T Anjaiah.
He said Congress PM Rajiv Gandhi insulted a Congress CM T Anjaiah at Hyderabad airport.Modi was referring to the then Andhra Pradesh CM T Anjaiah being publicly humiliated by Rajiv Gandhi and how NT Rama Rao felt insulted by it, leading him to enter politics to save ‘Telugu pride’.
“NT Rama Rao’s Telugu Desam Party was born out of those insults to the people of Andhra Pradesh,” said Modi
