Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh , the one who gave assurances to the state of Andhra Pradesh over special status in Rajya Sabha, demanded the BJP govt to fulfill the commitments made by him .
Manmohan Singh appealed to the House to honour commitments made by him on February 20, 2014 on the floor of the Rajya Sabha to grant Special Status to Andhra Pradesh.
Manmohan spoke on the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill, moved by Congress member K V P Ramachandra Rao said, His govet took a cabinet decision to accord the Special status to Andhra Pradesh. It was sent for President for making it an ordinance, but due to Election code , it was not considered.
The private bill was later referred to the Lok Sabha speaker to decide whether its a Money Bill or not .
