Finally the last hurdle for Rajinikanth’s much hyped Kabali release , has been cleared with Madras High Court intervention.
Madras High Court today declined a writ petition filed by Linga distributor to stop Kabali release- Distributor wanted compensation for loss. Coimbatore district-based Sukra Films filed writ, seeking to recover Rs 89 lakh unpaid , that was promised by the actor.
However, Kabali lawyers argued that Kabali film is nowhere concerned with Linga as both the production houses & producers were different. And also stated that the films is in eleventh hours of release , Thousands of Tickets were sold through Advance booking .
While the court agreed with the argument of Kabali lawyers and declined to stay the release of “Kabali”.Justice M M Sundresh asked why the distributor had not filed a civil suit for recovery of the money.
