KVP’s bill on AP special status scrapped from Rajya Sabha

kvpCongress member K V P Rama Chandra Rao ‘s private member bill on special status for Andhra Pradesh gets Finance Bill status and scrapped from Rajya Sabha.

Deputy chairman of Rajya Sabha P J Kurien, today has said that the bill, which was presented by Congress MP K V P Ramachandra Rao seeking special status to Andhra Pradesh, will be treated as finance bill.

Kurien said that after consulting legal opinion, the bill was treated as finance bill and it was removed from proceedings. He has stated this is a monetary bill which can only be introduced in Loksabha and there will be not voting on private member bill in Rajya sabha.

While K V P said he would go to the court to challenge the Kurien’s verdict on the bill.
