Telangana Congress leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir alleged that Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K. Tarakarama Rao failed to do his job properly.
Ali visited Bholakpur of Musheerabad, offered condolences to Mohammad Nadeem who lost his wife and his two daughters due to collapse of house.
He said, KTR has made tall claims about making Hyderabad into a global city but rain downpours reveals the state of the Hyderabad. The seven deaths due to rains is an example of failure of GHMC officials and also of KTR. There were no Emergency Teams when people need help.
The state govt took no initiative to handle the crisis despite forecast of heavy rainfall by MET department. Govt failed completely in handling waterlogging, power failures, traffic jams, water drains and submergence of low lying areas. He demanded ex-gratia of 10 lakhs for the families of deceased.
