Director Krishna Vamsi, who has carved a niche for himself with hard-hitting films like Sindhooram and Khadgam is attempting a film on corrupt politicos now. The film, titled Paisa, showcases the quick rise of Jagan Mohan Reddy and is bound to ruffle a few feathers. The film also allegedly takes potshots at Botsa Satyanarayana and the illicit liquor scam.
The political satire chronicles the stupendous rise of a young leader, who amassed immense wealth and established numerous things. “Although, it doesn’t show the late YSR, but he would be often seen on TV snatches in the film. The character inspired by Jagan makes it big in a short time and even becomes the CM in the film using his power,” said a source in the crew.
However, producer Ramesh Poppala denied any such connect. “It has nothing to do with Jagan or Botsa or any other real-life person… but it does mirror the present political situation in the state and shows a few greedy people stashing up huge wealth. Haven’t we seen people who can do anything, go to any extent to earn a fortune and run behind money,” he said.
Gen-X star Nani was reportedly roped in to essay the role of the young politician, however, the producer denied it. “Nani is not portraying Jagan,” said the producer firmly. Then who are playing the roles of these top politicos, that remains to be seen.
