At a function on the banks of lower Maneru reservoir in Karimnagar, KCR formally launched the third phase of the Haritha Haram
Ten thousand students took part in the plantation drive which is aimed for One lakh saplings plantation in Karimnagar alone
The flagship program of Telangana government, Haritha Haram is an afforestation drive which is aimed at planting 230 cr saplings in 5 years to take State’s green cover to 33% from the extant 24%.
Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, IT Minister K Tarakarama Rao and DGP Anurag Sharma planted saplings in Ranga Reddy. During the third phase, 40 crore saplings are programmed to be planted. .
