Karnataka intensifies water battle with Tamil Nadu over Cauvery river water as it defies Supreme Court’s directives yet again.
The all party meet on Cauvery Issue has decied to not release water for Tamil Nadu . Even the opposition parties in Karnataka BJP & JDS supported Karnataka Government’s stand.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah specking to media said ” We have taken decision not to release the water to Tamil Nadu. Commenting on SC order He said, It is a defective order, so we have decided to file a review petition on Monday. We have not defied the orders of the Supreme court, there is no wilful disobedience or deliberate disobedience.”.
Special session of Karnataka legislature called on Monday to pass another resolution on this issue. He added Assembly has passed a resolution, so it is binding on them.
Meanwhile Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda who began his indefinite hunger strike this morning, has decided to call it off after Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, Mallikarjun kharge, Sadananda Gowda and Ananth Kumar convinced him.
