Justice Samudrala Govindarajulu of the AP High Court on Tuesday dismissed evangelist and Prajashanti Party president K.A. Paul’s petition seeking temporary bail to campaign in the bypolls.
The court had earlier allowed him to take part in the poll campaign but he could not be released on bail since PT warrant issued by a lower court in Mahbubnagar was pending against him. The evangelist was arrested in Ongole on May 21 on a charge of luring the police to eliminate Koteswara Rao, prime accused in the murder of his brother David Raju. The police alleged that Mr Paul is the prime conspirator in the David Raju murder case.
