J.D. Chakravarthy, who debuted with Shiva more than two decades ago, made repeated attempts to find that elusive success in Bollywood with films such as Satya and Vaastu Shastra. Now, Chakri is giving Bollywood one more shot with Ram Gopal Varma’s Bhoot Returns.
“Firstly, I think it’s about time that we stop drawing comparisons between Hindi and South actors. The biggest actor down South is aware that he cannot beat Shah Rukh Khan or Salman Khan’s popularity. In fact, one SMS or a ‘hello’ from Salman would send them into a frenzy. A cordial meeting with Amitabh Bachchan or Hrithik Roshan is discussed so dramatically that it’s embarrassing. Like the rest of the country, every South actor, deep down, is in awe of Hindi film actors of his generation,” said Chakri.
