Satyam always keeps away his brother’s son Anand(NTR) and NTR grows at his uncle(Suresh)’s house in mumbai. Anand is a nature lover who pursues environmental research in Mumbai. He fights for mother earth. His maradalu Bujji (Samantha) helps him is nature protection activities. After messing up with MLA, Anand lose his job and his uncle sends him to Hyderabad. Anand returns to Hyderabad for the first time and fights with Raghav (Unni Mukundan), son of Satyam for protecting mother earth and later meets Satyam. What is the reason behind for his meeting Satyam?, Does Anand know that Satyam is his uncle? What is the reason for Janantha Garage to have Anand?.. forms the story.
NTR continued his beard look from his previous film Nannaku Prematho and his look doesn’t look fresh. However, he has put on some weight for the film. He impressed with his dances especially the “Apple ” song. He has changed the diction of his dialogue delivery. Mohanlal played a key role in this film, his charismatic presence and the GHMC episode are the saving grace of this movie that has clichéd scenes , Mohanlal’s character loses importance in second half. Samantha and Nithya were just for songs. Saikumar is just okay. Director should have paid attention to shape Mukundan role, in a more interesting manner.
Koratala Siva has chosen very strong technical team for the film, Devi Sri’s two songs will entertain NTR fans, Background music is good. Thiru’s cinematography is impressive especially in action episodes. Koratala scores less marks as director as well as writer. Conversations in the film are not so impressive, compared to his previous films like Srimanthudu and Mirchi. However, some dialogues like “Naa science lo pratidee chinnade – Naturetho Polisthe, Bhai Kopam – Nee Kopam – Naa Kopam – Thokkalo Kopaalu … Srish?i Kopam Mun?u evannee chinnave.Manamantha ee bhoomi meda tenants. Edi disturb cheyakunda vundi Vellali” , makes impact.
Mohanlal, NTR screen presence
Lack of conflict between characters
Lacks strong villain
Janatha Garage projected as a commercial film with a message . The movie is all about two individuals, one who loves plants and the other who believes in humanity. What happens when they meet?.. is the plot of the film. But the director seems to have not done his homework in developing the plot. Janatha Garage is just another regular story where “good” wins over “bad”. But,the director intelligently branded it as “Janatha Garage”.
Janatha Garage is the place when solves the problems of poor. Initially, the scenes that revolve around NTR will impress. Mohanlal’s role in the first half would look crucial for the film. After NTR’s entry into Janatha Garage , the real heroic acts begins at the agrge.
Koratala Siva without doing much homework on the story, has wrote some impressive scenes especially the problem solving scene related to Rajeev Kanakala . Hats Off to the director for the scene. Climax scenes were routine. Heroine’s role was very small. Missing strong villain character is the biggest minus for the film. Koratala fails to elevate heroism of NTR with a flat plot. Overall , Janatha Garage lacks entertainment, romance and message.
