Initially, Jagan was scheduled to campaign for his party candidate Nallapureddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy only for two days – March 5 and 6 and then return for a second-leg of campaign on March 13 and 14. However, he has extended the first leg of campaign first by one day and then by another two days. So, he will continue the campaign till Friday.
While YSR Congress party camp has been claiming that Jagan had to extend his campaign because of pressure from the local people who want him to come to their villages, field reports indicate that he is actually worried about lack of enough response from the people for his road shows.
Though the party leaders are making hectic efforts to mobilize the crowds, they are not up to the satisfaction of Jagan. There is also a complaint that lack of sufficient network at the field level is affecting the prospects of Prasanna.
Hence, Jagan wants to stay back for a few days and set the things right before the elections, sources added.
