Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday reserved its judgement on the bail plea of Jaganmohan Reddy, the YSR Congress chief, till July 4.
The arguments concluded before Justice S Govinda Rajulu today.
Eminent lawyer Ram Jethmalani, representing Jagan, argued that the arrest of his client was politically motivated.
Jagan was being harassed by CBI at the behest of its political bosses, Jethmalani alleged.
CBI’s lawyer, senior advocate Ashok Bhan, argued that the case involved financial irregularities to the tune of Rs43,000 crore, and CBI was investigating the fund-flow into Jagan’s companies.
Giving bail at this point would hamper the probe, Bhan said, as the central agency was to file more chargesheets.
Jagan was arrested on May 27 in a disproportionate assets case. Since then he is in jail.
