MP Lagadapati Rajagopal made a sensational revelation during his Srikakulam campaign. He said that during the making of Raktha Charitra, the director Ram Gopal Varma was threatened by Jagan to not include any references to him in the film. Raktha Charitra is the story of slain TDP leader Paritala Ravi. Ravi’s family has, for a long time now, been alleging that Jagan was the true mastermind behind Ravi’s murder. They also allege that the CBI was pressured to give a clean chit to Jagan by the then CM YSR.
Rajagopal said RGV himself told him of the threat during the launch of RGV’s book “Naa Ishtam”. (Rajagopal launched the book)
Now, Varma has also confirmed this news. Varma confirms he got a threatening call from a person very close to Jagan to drop any references to Jagan in the film. Varma said he was forced to remove a lot of scenes from the movie.
The film eventually released with no reference to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
