The Congress is gripped by ‘Jagan phobia’ and the leaders were running helter-skelter to stall his popularity, YSR Congress Party claimed today. Party spokesperon Gattu Ramachandra Rao told reporters here that the Congress, which was totally ignoring governance and peoples’ issues, was desperate to stall the onward march of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy and the disorder in its own house was sending clear signals that the 100-year-old party was on the verge of extinction. When Union Minister Vaylar Ravi was in the city, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was in Delhi to consolidate his position, he sarcastically said and added APCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana also ignored Mr Ravi and was closetted with Congress MP Chiranjeevi, who had recently merged his PRP with Congress, he alleged. He alleged the Congress had slipped into an abyss. The moment it disowned late YSR and his family members. They tried every trick in the book, from raising objection to unveiling YSR statues and raking up caste and creed equations to filing of cases. When one section of Congress was encouraging Jagan bashing, some leaders who claimed that YSR was a great leader, were silent and never spoke. This clearly shows that there is lot of confusion in the party as no categorical stand was being taken on this, he alleged. ‘We have seen in the previous elections that the Congress leaders went to polls with YSR’s photo, not on Sonia Gandhi image’, he alleged.
