It’s not often that an artist is surprised by early success, but sometimes there are exceptions. Young actor/director Harshvardhan Rane was in for a shock when his short film Infinity leaked online, 48 hours in advance.
“We were working on adding final touches to the film. My team and I were coordinating on the Internet, and fine-tuning the sound.
When the final copy was to be shared, I could not open a private link that was sent to me. So we decided to share it via a public link and the movie went viral online before we released it,” says the first-time producer. The film has so far got over 17,000 hits online.
“This was the first time that I was part of the production team. I was still looking into legal issues and so on,” says 28-year-old Harshvardhan who is no stranger to Tollywood. He recently shared screen space with RaNa in Naa Ishtam.
But short films have always been his passion and making low-budget honest films is what drives him. “In a way, this project was conceptualised to show that we don’t need huge budgets to be successful,” he says.
