I see no reason to be arrested by CBI : Jagan
Amid reports that YSR Congress Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy will be arrested soon by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), as the investigation agency is allegedly ready with a second chargesheet against him, Jagan in an exclusive interview to National media, says the CBI’s case against him is politically motivated. He also says the charges against him began after he left the Congress. Jagan has said he sees no reason to be arrested by the CBI. Jagan had founded his own party, the YSR Congress, named after his famous father and former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Will they, won’t they? There is uncertainty over whether the CBI will go ahead and arrest Jagan Reddy after they chargesheeted him and arrested a key financial aide. Jagan is currently campaigning for the crucial by elections in Andhra Pradesh, after 18 MLAs loyal to him quit the Congress. Many feel the arrest could make him a political martyr. Jagan, in his speeches, insists that he is fighting for the people and all charges are because he left the Congress party.
Jagan Mohan Reddy has been chargesheeted by the CBI for building up a vast fortune by misusing the office of his father, YSR Reddy, when he was chief minister. Jagan has not yet been arrested. He is currently touring the West Godavari district ahead of assembly by-elections. 16 of the 17 assembly by-elections that Jagan is campaigning for will be in an area that has been loyal to his father, YSR Reddy. Elections here will be held before the end of May.
