High court orders to preserve bodies of killed Maoists

highcourtHyderabad High Court has directed the Andhra Pradesh government to preserve the bodies of the Maoists killed in a gun battle .

Over 24 Maoists and a police personnel were killed in an alleged exchange of fire between Maoists and police in Malkangiri district of Odisha near the border with Andhra.

A civil liberties activist filed a petition seeking a complete probe in the killings as per Supreme Court guidelines about encounter killings.

The court directed that the bodies of the Maoists be preserved at King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam.
