Hearing on rebel MLCs disqualification adjourned

Government whip and MLC Rudraraju Padmaraju today informed that Legislative Council Chairman, Dr Chakrapani, has adjourned the hearing on disqualification petitions pending against MLC Pulla Padmavathi and Kondru Murali for ‘anti-party activities’ to May 18 and May 28 respectively. Talking to media persons here, Mr Padmaraju stated that Kondru Murali has sent a letter stating that his health condition was bad and sought 40 days time to appear before the Council Chairman.

However, Council Whip Shivarami Reddy raised objection to this. Meanwhile, Ms Pulla Padmavathi, in a letter, stated that she had not indulged in any anti-party activities and would continue as loyal worker of Congress party.

Regretting her association with the YSR Congress party, she said she would work as a loyal worker and campaign for the party if the leadership directs her to do so. After hearing the arguments of Mr Shivarami Reddy, Council Chairman Chakrapani posted the petition for next hearing for Pulla Padmavathi on May 18 and Kondru Murali on May 28.
