Health Run at Vishakapatanam
A Heath Run was organized by INHS Kalyani Hospital here today as the first among a series of events being held to commemorate the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Hospital, which was commissioned on 18 May, 1962 at Visakhapatnam Naval Base as a small military hospital for the naval personnel and families. According to Navy Release here tonight, the state-of-the-art hospital has completed 50 glorious years and is now poised to become a modern multi-specialty hospital. The Health Run, in which more than 700 Naval personnel along with their families took part, commenced at INHS Kalyani and will conclude at the Dolphin Hill, covering a distance of about eight km.
By undertaking this momentous event, INHS Kalyani re-dedicates itself to its commitment of providing highest standards of comprehensive health care to the Defence Personnel and their families, it said. The other events planned subsequently include Health Camp at Ponduru on 29 April and Medical Exhibition on May 18. A number of senior delegates from all parts of country and dignitaries, both present and past, are slated to grace this grand occasion, the release added.
