The opposition YSRCP which landed in Nandyal election fray has finally tasted a humiliating defeat. Despite a 13-day street to the street campaign by YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy, the party lost elections with a huge margin of 27k votes.
The main reason for such humiliating defeat for Shilpa Mohan Reddy was Gospadu Mandal, which is said to YSRCP strong hold in the Nandyal constituency
YSRCP leaders had a strong hope on Gospadu Mandal in Nandyal, they expected 8 to 12 thousand majorities from this Mandal. In the 2014 General Election, Bhuma Nagi Reddy received a majority of three thousand votes from Gospadu Mandal, which gave him the victory with a majority of 2700 votes. The same was expected for Silpa Mohan Reddy, but surprisingly TDP candidate Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy has got a majority of 814 votes, Apart from getting a majority in all the rounds of counting of votes. This was a deadly shock to YSRCP.
