Former CM sentenced 3 years Jail

madhu-kodaFormer Jharkhand CM Madhu Koda sentenced jail in the coal scam case. The special CBI court on Saturday (December 16) sentenced him to a fine of Rs 25 lakh along with three years imprisonment.

The case was registered on the basis of alleged irregularities in the coal block allocation of North coal block in Jharkhand. In the case, Madhu Koda and Gupta, along with Jharkhand former ACS Basu and Vishu, have already been convicted by the CBI.

In the1000 crores scam, court takes 11 yrs to award 3 yrs sentence Madhu Koda. Koda served as Chief Minister of Jharkhand from 2006 to 2008. He was third chief minister to hold the charge as an independent candidate. Koda started his political career with the All Jharkhand Students Union.

As per Media reports those days – Madhu Koda & his associates had investment in Dubai alone of more than Rs 370 crore & The highest amount was invested in Balaji Group which is around 950 crore. Madhu Koda has amassed property & wealth -worth around Rs 3,300 crore during his tenure as chief minister by misusing his office in Jharkhand.

In this case, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been accused by then opposition. However news that The screening committee chairman Gupta has reportedly concealed the facts about these allotments at Manmohan.
