The CBI has recieved another set back in the Jagan Mohan Reddy disproportionate assets case. The CBI court today threw out the CBI request to permit them to conduct Narco analysis on Jagan and his auditor Vijay Sai Reddy. The court said they had to go with the directions of the supreme court on the issue and sided with Jagan’s lawyers who argued to not permit the test.
There has been some serious debate within the legal community regarding the usefulness of narco analysis tests for sometime now. It always seemed like a stretch to expect the courts to permit a high profile accused like Jagan Mohan Reddy to be subjected to narco analysis tests. Details of the full order of the court are still awaited.
