Fire breaks out in jubilee hall

A fire broke out in the Jubilee hall minutes due to short circuit after UPA Presidential Candidate Pranab Mukherjee left the venue after addressing a special Congress Legislature Party Meeting to seek the support of elected representatives for his candidature.

Thick smoke engulfed the entire area even as the flames went up forcing the staff, Ministers and others to run out for safety. Fire tenders which were not present in the Assembly precints where the Jubilee Hall was situated, were requistioned. The fire personnel has doused the flames. On being informed, Chief Minister N Kiran Kuma r Reddy, who was accompanying Mr Mukherjee, immediately ordered an inquiry into the mishap.

He appointed IAS officer Ajay Mishra as the inquiry officer to probe the incident and directed him to submit a report to him immediately.
