The Election commission of India orders registering of FIR against YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for his inflammatory speech against Andhra pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu during Nandyal bye-election campaign.
After a complaint made by TDP leaders, EC has issued notices to Jagan taking his clarification on the objectionable speech made in the public meeting in Nandyal.
The commission has gone through the contents of the notice issued to Jagan by the returning officer of 139- Nandyal Assembly constituency for having made statements which are provocative , intemperate as well as violative of provisions of Para 1(2) of Model code of conduct.
The commission has noted Jagan’s Inflammatory tone of his statements ” After watching his (read as Naidu) cunningness, I feel that Mr. Naidu is like the accused in the court who killed his parents and there is nothing wrong in Gunning down such a person on the road”.
Issuing a severe warning to Jagan, EC opinion that an FIR may also be filed against Jagan under relevant provisions of IPC.
