The Election Commission of India today issued a notice to Telangana Rashtra Samithi President K Chandrasekhara Rao for speaking on the lines of religion during the campaign in Parkala Assembly Constituency, which would go to by-poll on June 12. The Commission had directed Mr Rao, on a complaint filed by the BJP, to give his explanation by 1500 hrs tommorow as his speech is violation of model code of conduct. The BJP on May 21 had lodged a complaint with Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal to this effect. The party, in its representation, had said Mr Rao had instigated Muslim community to take revenge against it for defeating the Minority candidate in Mahabubnagar by-election held in March 2012. The BJP said the statement of TRS President is nothing but provocative and amounts to creating hatered between the two communities.
