US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump slammed at Telecommunications giant AT&T deal to buy Time Warner Group for about $85.4 billion.
He said He would block the deal if he were elected. This deal would give the combined group “too much concentration of power” and would “destroy democracy”.
Time Warner Group is the America’s second-largest wireless telecoms company with the owner of HBO, CNN, Cartoon Network and the Warner Brothers movies. While AT & T is the US’ largest providers of wireless phone and Internet service.
Earlier AT&T spent $48bn buying the satellite TV provider DirecTV last year, making it the country’s largest pay-TV provider.
