The political circles were agog with rumours on Friday that V Vijay Sai Reddy, the right hand man of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and the personal auditor of the latter’s group companies, had met AICC observer and union minister Vayalar Ravi in the morning.
It so happened that Sai Reddy went to Taj Krishna to meet some legal advisors early in the morning. Incidentally, Vayalar Ravi and another union minister Sharad Pawar were staying in the same hotel. There is no confirmation whether Sai Reddy had any meeting with Vayalar and Pawar or whether he had just exchanged pleasantries with them, but the news spread fast into the media and political circles.
Naturally, Telugu Desam Party sought to take advantage of this development. TDP leaders Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu and Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy demanded an explanation from Ravi and Pawar as to why Sai Reddy had met them and whether it was part of the compromise formula between Jagan and the Congress. They reminded that it was only the previous day that Vayalar had praised YSR as a dynamic leader. “Obviously, there is more to Sai Reddy meeting the Congress leaders than what meets the eye,” they said.
Ironically, within hours of Sai Reddy being spotted at the star hotel, the high court cancelled his bail.
