New Zealand defeated India by 47 runs in the opening Group 2 Super 10 match of the ICC World Twenty20.
New Zealand scored 126 for seven in 20 overs (Corey Anderson 34; Jasprit Bumrah 1/15, Suresh Raina 1/15) and chasing the score India were 79 all out in 18.1 overs (Mahendra Singh Dhoni 30; Mitchell Santner 4/11).
Only Virat Kohli (23) and India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (30) fought bravely, rest of the wickets fell like playing cards. Intersgly , India lost nine wickets to spinners.
India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni blamed his side’s famed batting line-up for the shocking loss to New Zealand . He said Indian batsman lacked adaptability while New Zealand exploited the conditions.
