Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan today said the resignation issue of Andhra Pradesh Roads and Buildings Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao was not in his hands. Speaking to mediapersons after hosting iftar party at Raj Bhavan which was attended by APCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana, Cabinet Ministers and MPs, he said the Congress government should take a decision on acceptance of the resignation. ‘The ball is not in my court,’ he clarifified and discounted the campaign that the acceptance of the Minister’s resignation was under his purview. If the Chief Minister sent a file to him recommending to accept the Minister’s resignation, he would do so immediately, the Governor remarked. Mr Prasada Rao had resigned on August 14 after his name was cropped up in the fourth chargesheet filed by the CBI in the Vanpic issue related to Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s illegal assets case. Reports during the few days said if the Governor gives his consent for prosecuting the Minister on the CBI’s request made to the state government, the Chief Minister would then have no option than accepting the resignation of Mr Rao.
