Dharmana appears before CBI in Jagan assets case
Andhra Pradesh Roads and Buildings Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao today appeared before the CBI here in connection with the alleged disproportionate assets case of YSR Congress Party Chief Y S jagan Mohan Reddy. The Minister, a close confidante of former Chief Minister late Dr Y S Rajashekara Reddy, was summoned by the investigation agency for questioning him on the issue of releasing nine GO’s for allocation of lands to those who invested in Jagan companies. Mr Rao, who was a Revenue Minister during YSR’s tenure, was questioned by the CBI for more than an hour, sources said. Senior IAS Officer Samuel was also grilled by the CBI this morning after he appeared before it following summons were issued to him.
Mr Dharmana Prasada Rao was the second Minister who had appeared before the CBI in the Jagan assets case. Earlier, State Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, who was facing allegations from the opposition parties over his alleged involvement in liquor syndicate scam, had appeared before the CBI in the second week of last month.
