Court sends Judge to judicial remand in bail scam

The Principal Special Judge for ACB & SPE Cases here today sent Former Chief Judge of City Small Causes Court K Lakshminarasimha Rao to 14-days judicial remand after he was arrsted in cash-for-bail case involving Former Karnataka Minister and Mining Baron Gali Janardhan Reddy, who was currently lodged in Bangalore Jail in the illegal mining case. Earlier, the ACB officials produced Mr Rao in the court after conducting medical tests on him at Osmania General Hospital.

Mr Rao, who is also former Secretary (Legal) of AP ElectionCommission was arrested by the ACB officials this morning afterquestioning him yesterday at his residence in Hyderguda here. TheAndhra Pradesh High Court yesterday placed Lakshminarasimha Rao under suspension after the ACB sleuths conducted searches at his house as his name had cropped up during interrogation when one of the arrested accused in the case confessed to his role in the scam. The ACB has registered a case against the Judge under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Prevention of Corruption Act.
