Countdown begins for Yakub Memon

yakubmemon-784747Countdown began for Yakub Memon, who was sentenced to death for a series of bombings in Mumbai in 1993. He will be hanged tomorrow (thursday) morning.

Maharashtra government is preparing for Yakub’s hanging at Nagpur Central Jail tomorrow on his 54th birthday, if President Pranab Mukherjee rejects his final plea for mercy. He will be woken up at 3 am in the morning and after bath & health checkup, he will be hanged.

Yakub was found guilty in 2007 of planning and helping finance the deadly blasts in which 257 people were killed.
