Speaking to media persons at the Lake View Guest House in the evening, Senior Congress leader and union minister Vayalar Ravi on Tuesday admitted that the Congress party position in the state is in a pretty bad shape, need a surgery and there were indeed serious differences among the party leaders in the state.
“I have received complaints against the party leadership in the state from several quarters. They are all senior leaders and I am sure they would sort out their differences. I had an interaction with leaders from all the three regions and am studying the party position at the field level,” he said.
Vayalar Ravi said the Congress party was closely analyzing the impact of YSR Congress party floated by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in the by-elections.
“We will treat Jagan party like any other opposition party and work out our strategies accordingly,” he said.
He refused to comment on whether the party would make use of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s image in the by-elections.
“YSR was our chief minister and a Congress leader till his last breath. It is not proper to talk about him at this stage when the Congress has to fight against his son,” he said.
On Telagana issue, Ravi said he had complete understanding about the demand for separate statehood and the party high command would take an appropriate decision at an appropriate time.
