CM Ramesh ready for any sacrifice for Kadapa Steel Plant

TDP Rajya Sabha MP CM Ramesh on Monday (20th June’18) shot off letters to PM Modi & Union Minister of Steel urging them to take immediate steps for establishing an integrated steel plant in Kadapa as assured in the AP Reorganisation Act. CM Ramesh recalled that under Schedule XIII of the AP Reorganisation Act it was mentioned that the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) shall examine the feasibility of establishing a steel plant in Kadapa

The affidavit filed by the Ministry of Steel in the Supreme Court allegedly stating that the project is not economically viable has aroused emotions of the people of the State in general and those from Kadapa district in particular.

Union Minister of Steel Chaudhary Birender Singh said the Centre was yet to get the task force report relating to the establishment of steel plants in Kadapa as well as at Bayyaram of Telangana. Ministry of Steel had sent a communication in June 2015, regarding the feasibility study of SAIL on setting up 3 MTPA(Million Tonnes Per Annum) steel plant in Kadapa district.
