CM Kiran blames on inauspicious muhurtam for all ills

Chief Minister N.Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday startled every one by declaring that congress leaders were conspiring to topple his government.

In a free wheeling public speech at the inaugural of the Praja Patham program(taking administration to people)Kiran Kumar Reddy said it was perhaps the ‘inauspicious’ muhurtam of his swearing in on November 25, 2010 in mid noon (1307 hours ) that his short term has been jinxed.
‘Ever since I took over I have faced  bye polls every  third month, two doctors agitations, one  no confidence emotion, resignation of  congress MlAs and Mps, one 42 day  strike by Telangana employees, Textiles  traders, jewelers strike, NREGA workers strike, singareni collieries strike and what not’.

The chief minister who launched the second edition of Praja Patham at Nakkapally in Visakhapatnam district said that it was ironical that congressmen were vying to bring down his government and also to divide the state. More or less the party men are joining force with the opposition led TDP which is orchestrating a campaign to topple my government ‘he said.

It is no secret that Kiran Kumar had been the dark horse choice of the high command after Rosaiah had to quit on health grounds. Kiran Kumar Reddy was a choice favoured by home minister P.Chidambaram who was very close to Kirans father Amarnath Reddy. Congress high command had hoped to bear a Reddy (Jagan) with another Reddy in the hot seat.

The Jagan group was every excited after the bail out of Jagan’s key aide Vijai Sai Reddy and the CBI making no efforts to arrest Jaganmohan Reddy in the illegal assets case. ‘All the CBI case is a conspiracy to eliminate me but it is the congress that will be wiped out ‘Jagan says.

In a house of  294, congress is reduced to 156 including merger of 18 members of Praja Rajyam, TRS is 16 (improved from 10 of 2009), TDP has lost five seats to TRS and one to YSRC (now at 85), CPI- 4, BJP grew by ione seat – 3, MIM -7, Lok Satta -1, CPM- 1 and rest independents. Presently there are 18 vacancies in the house – 18 jagan loyalists whose resignations were accepted and  bye poll due.

Kiran Kumar Reddy’s regime has come under flak for more and more washing of dirty linen in public endangering the congress party – EMAAR scandal, Jagan assets case, Liquor scam, illegal mining scam, imported coal, red sanders smuggling. The CM is locked up in an open battle with two ministers including the PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana.’ It is time both of you sunk your differences and behaved ‘Ghulam Nabi Azad  had  admonished them often.

On the eve of a campaign for  bye polls for 18 assembly seats likely in May-June the Kiran Kumar Reddy statement had thrown the congress leadership into confusion. His detractors termed it as his ‘frustration and desperation ‘and inability to pull the party through the crisis. His supporters said the CM has been indirectly hinting the high command at the likely outcome of the bye polls.

Initial surveys have shown that the congress party was on the loosing trail in the 18 seats likely to go for bye poll by May end or June first week. The vacancies were caused in 17 seats with resignation of Jagan loyalists in Congress and Chiranjeevis resignation from Tirupati after his election as Rajya Sabha MP.

Ever since high command gave a green signal YSR bashing has picked up in the state. The Union minister Panabaka Lakshmi has  endorsed  the state ministers charge that YSR was anti-Dalit .A group of  MPs and MLAs have raised their voice against YSR as a factionist and corrupt. ‘Congress will loose more votes and following with such campaign agaisnt YSR’ said a senior PCC leader Paladugu Venkat Rao.
