Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today asked the officials to maintain adequate power supply to the consumers and to concentrate on long term power generation. At a review meeting here, the Chief Minister asked the officials to make all out efforts to meet the demand as far as possible and see that people are not put to any difficulties, an official release here said.
The Officials informed that due to severe summer and continuousheat wave conditions, fall in ground water table and enormous increase of consumption in domestic sector, there is steep increase in power demand.
The shortage between supply and demand has increased up to 22per cent, the officials informed and stated that once the monsoonsets in, the position will improve and the demand will come down proportionately. The Chief Minister directed the officials to chalk out plans and concentrate on long term generation including mini-hydel projects, solar and wind power generation schemes, the release added.
