CID sleuths raid C.Kalyan’s Colour Lab
CID police on Tuesday raided the Balaji Colour Labs of noted film producer C Kalyan, who is facing charges of connivance with Bhanu Kiran, the alleged murderer of Rayalaseema factionist Maddelacheruvu Suri in several settlements in the film industry.
CID sleuths reportedly seized several documents from the labs. They were checking all the facts stated by Bhanu Kiran in his confessional statement. They have already seized the documents pertaining to nine properties he has admitted to have possessed.
It may be mentioned here that Bhanu Kiran confessed to have taken up test firing before murdering Suri at Shamshabad in the presence of Singanamala Ramesh, another film producer. Police suspect that Bhanu had done several settlements with the help of Kalyan and Ramesh in the film industry. Bhanu has admitted that he has collected the film rolls of ‘Rakta Charitra – 2’ of Ram Gopal Varma from the Balaji Colour Labs and had taken it to Bengaluru, for showing the film based on the life of Suri, to the people of Rapthadu. He also told the interrogators that he had booked two film theatres in Bengaluru for screening of the film.
Noted film director Ram Gopal Varma has produced the ‘Rakta Charitra’ films based on the real life of factionist Suri. He has met Suri several times in the jail, for research on the story. It is learnt that Bhanu also confessed that Suri had invested money in films. Police are likely to question Varma also, say reports.
