When will he return ? will he meet Leela again? ..forms the plot.
Karthi as military guy gave his ever best as an artist. Aditi Rao Hydari has done equity to her part as an experienced artist, and the chemistry between her and Karthi worked out well. K.P.A.C. Lalitha, Shraddha Srinath, Rukmini Vijayakumar, R.J. Balaji in the supporting characters are good.
Music composed by AR Rahman is biggest asset for the film , he has taken the music to next level, all the song are simply marvelous. The BGM is extraordinary. Dubbing quality is good. Cinematography is wonderful.
Cheiya is a war like Love film with Mani Ratnam mark story, screenplay and charazations. Every lover should watch the film to gain some knowledge. The first half deals with love between the lead pair and both come to know about each other character and then comes a twist during the interval.
While later half deals how Varun escape from Rawalpindi jail in search of his lover and the climax will again has Maniratnam mark ending which may not be liked. Mani is the master in handling love stories, this romantic thriller will strike a chord with the younger generation. However , the movie is dragging in second half. Mani tired to say ,Love can be perfect despite character flaws and imperfections. Overall Cheliya has Maniratnam Signature throughout the film.
Lead pair Chemistry
Minus points :
Dragging second half
