Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu today launched a unique health scheme “Arogya Raksha” to ensure health for all in the state.
A family can avail the scheme, securing a health insurance of Rs.2 lakh by paying Rs.100 premium per head. The World Health Organisation, Bill Gates Foundation and other noted health organizations are supporting the government in implementing this scheme.
Meanwhile, Officials have been asked to complete premium collection and enrollment within two months, by the end of February to launch the scheme that is estimated to cost Rs 160.56 crore. They said necessary allocations for the scheme would be sanctioned in the next budget.
He said that both wealth and health plays significance role in the development, he said. To achieve his government’s ambitious target of making the state as the third best-developed state in the country by 2020 and first best-developed state by 2050, he said health The Chief Minister also launched Swasta Vidya Vahini at 222 places to provide nutritious food to students in the state on December 24. He called the two schemes a New Year gift.
