CBI team carries out searches at Judge’s residence

A special team from Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today carried out searches at the residence of CBI first Additional Judge T Pattabhirama Rao at Chilakuluripet in Guntur District after he was suspended by the Andhra Pradesh High Court Chief Justice in a cash- for-bail scandal involving mining-baron Gali Janardhan Reddy. Sources said the CBI team had seized important documents from the Judge’s residence.

The CBI team also conducted searches at the residences of document writer Srinivasa Rao and Advocate Tarakaram besides questioning Mr Rao’s brother in this connection.

The sources also said the CBI team were examining the Judge’s accounts in State Bank of India (SBI) and trying to ascertain about the assets accumulated by the Judge through Guntur Registar Officer.

The CBI is tightening its screws to arrest the Judge and his son in the case.
