CBI got proof on Mopidevi after Prasad arrest

Following Nimmagadda Prasad’s arrest, CBI sources said they had found clinching evidence against excise minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana in the Vanpic land deal. “To prove the case of quid pro quo investments by Prasad into Jagan’s companies, the prosecution of the minister is essential,” the sources said. Sources said the alleged role of Mr Ramana in the Vanpic deal had been brought to the notice of the state government. The CBI has to obtain sanction to prosecute Mr Ramana from the state government under Section 197 of the CrPC.
