Brothers Movie Review – Blood in Action

brothersAction packed ‘Brothers’ which showcased how love between turns into hate , has clicked at Box Office.

Gary (Jackie Shroff) has a lovely wife Maria Fernandes (Shefali Shah) and two sons David (Akshay Kumar) and Monty (Siddharth). Gary is a former MMA athlete and a drunkard kills his wife accidently and comes out of jail at his old age. He finds his both sons living separately, David is married to Jenny (Jacqueline Fernandez) and they have a daughter who is on dialysis and David gets suspended from his teacher job. While Monty becomes a professional fighter. David also choses fighter job to earn money for his daughter’s medial expenses. Kiran Kumar organises a multi-crore R2F (Right to Fight) tournament and Both the Brothers participated in the Tournament for which the proce money is 9 crore.

The first half of the movie is a slow build up to an action-packed second half. Also, during the last fight, there are some cliched moments. Akshay as family guy has excelled in his performance, showing pain, family burden and responsibility feelings. Siddharth as a young touch guy shows hatred on his brother and the last fight between them is interesting.

Direction is decent, Music is good especially the BGM and Katrina’s item number is foot tapping. However, the movie missed out the emotion and family reunion part in the climax which makes audience feel that they have missed a desert after having a grand dinner. Rating – 4/5
