Botsa comes clean in Liquor Scam

Transport Minister Botsa Satyanarayana is a relieved person as High Court quashed a petition filed by a social activist E. Giri Yadav seeking probe against him for alleged involvement in the liquor syndicate. Court issued the orders observing that it has not found any proof or evidence against Botsa Satyanarayana to suspect his involvement in the liquor syndicate. Court while dismissing the petition also imposed a fine of Rs.50, 000 on Giri Yadav for wasting the time of court by filing a baseless petition.

It may be recalled that Giri Yadav filed a writ petition in High Court seeking its directions to ensure that Botsa does not continue in office for alleged involvement in liquor scam. The petitioner also valued the liquor scam at Rs.15, 000 Crore and alleged the Minister’s involvement in same. He said no further proof or evidence was required to show that Botsa was guilty as he admitted that his family was into the liquor business and presently having 31 shops in Vizianagaram district.
